Biography
Krista McNamara, P.A.-C., is a physician assistant who sees patients at MidMichigan Health Park – Houghton Lake.
“Quality health care is delivered best on a firm foundation of trust between the patient and provider,” Krista said. “Family practice facilitates strong relationships through consistent care over time. “I’m looking forward to meeting my new patients and caring for them in the years to come.”
One of Krista’s mentors often said, ‘If I’ve made one patient’s day better, then I’ve done my job as a clinician.’ “Whether a patient shows excitement over a lowered A1c or confided in me his mental health struggles, the small victories often mean the most,” she said.
Philosophy of Care
“I practice evidence-based medicine first and foremost,” Krista said. “Physical health is one important piece of the puzzle. Focusing on the body, mind and spirit is essential to holistic health. With my background in nutrition as a registered dietitian, I strongly believe that lifestyle plays an essential role in managing many conditions. I fully support integrating lifestyle changes first and if necessary, adding appropriate medication.”
Krista builds her patient/provider relationships on mutual trust. Her goal as a provider is to listen to patient concerns, create a realistic plan of care with the patient and follow up appropriately.
“The recurring theme in my philosophy of care is to listen to my patients,” said Krista. “As a person, we know it is nice to be heard and not ignored. As a patient, there is no better feeling leaving an office knowing that your provider has given you the time and attention you need. That is my ultimate goal, for my patients to know that I care and want them to live well.”
